Supercell valued integration possibilities when choosing their partner

The cooperation between Loihde and Supercell started in early 2020 when Supercell chose Loihde as the supplier of security and locking systems to their new headquarters.

Supercell Ltd is a Finnish company that develops mobile games. In 2020, they built their new headquarters in Wood City in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki. Loihde was responsible for the locking and security contract for the eight-storey wooden office building. Loihde delivered access control, locking, video surveillance, video entry phone and burglar alarm systems to Supercell’s headquarters.

“We had thought about certain specs in advance and sought a supplier in accordance with these. In addition, references from previous installations and other deliveries as well as expertise influenced our choice”, Supercell’s Facility Manager Janne Saarinen summarises.

According to Saarinen, the aim was also to seek integration benefits between the locking and security systems by acquiring them from the same place.
Saarinen characterises the Wood City project as a new way of construction, which for its part also set the criteria for the business partners.

“Both wood and concrete were used in the construction process and the scale was large. The project’s quality and functionality requirements were above average. This placed certain requirements on the chosen locking and security solutions as well, Salonen says.

Supercell’s new Helsinki headquarters was finished in early 2021. The other offices of the international company are located in San Francisco, Seoul and Shanghai.

Innovativeness and quality as criteria

According to Saarinen, Supercell seeks business partners that have the same look and feel as them.

“They have to be innovative, self-regulating and high-quality in a new way. Being Finnish is not an absolute value to us, but we do hold it in high esteem. We use Finnish expertise when it is reasonable to do so”, Saarinen sums up.

Daniel Belmouloud, Director of Major Accounts at Loihde, who has been closely involved in the project, describes it as unique.

“We are proud that Supercell chose Loihde as their supplier and that we got to be a part of implementing this project. New solutions were sought and implemented also during the construction period. There were plenty of innovative solutions and quality standards were high.”

Loihde was in charge of the locking and security solutions for the project and built a software integration for identifying number plates. The integration combines both video surveillance and access control.

“The delivered systems form a totality that is nicely integrated and of high quality. The cooperation will be developed and taken further in the future. In the future, Loihde will provide Supercell with expert services and system support and maintenance services”, Belmouloud states.
